Caleb Williams might be the most generational prospect ever in the history of the NFL. The Chicago Bears did what they had to do and traded Justin Fields and selected Caleb Williams #1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. What does that mean for fantasy though? Is he the #1 overall pick in fantasy rookie drafts too? Let’s dive into it for Caleb Williams Dynasty Fantasy Football profile.
The short answer is yes. He is absolutely the #1 overall pick in rookie drafts. You can have the best QB room in the world and you are still obligated to take him #1 overall in your fantasy rookie drafts. What people have failed to realize is that QB is the only position that is limited in supply. There are only 32 QBs that will play for a team (barring injuries and stuff like that). With RBs, WRs, and TEs, there will always be a plethora of options. There’s only one QB playing for an NFL team every Sunday. You could draft Caleb Williams and trade a QB away. Or if you play fantasy football correctly (with best ball and 2 QB leagues), you can just wait and he’ll have his weeks. Not taking Caleb Williams #1 overall is criminally negligent.
We haven’t even talked about the weapons that he has at his disposal. Unfortunately, they have more weapons than Justin Fields ever dreamed of. He got the short end of that stick. But now, the Bears are loaded with talent at RB, WR, and TEs for Williams. They have D’Andre Swift, Khalil Herbert, and Roschon Johnson at RB, DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze at WR, and Cole Kmet, and Gerald Everett at TE. They have plenty of weapons everywhere to use at Williams’s disposal.
In dynasty leagues, not taking Caleb Williams #1 overall is just dumb. If someone is that dumb to not take him at 1, take him at 2, and so on and so forth. This one is pretty simple for the 2024 rookies in Fantasy Football rookie draft. Take one of the most generational prospects of all time at QB at #1 or suffer.
