I’m just going to say it because I don’t know how else to phrase it. Tim Stützle is a superstar and if you’re not willing to agree it’s because you’re not watching the games. Short term, long term, it doesn’t really matter. Buy all of the Stützle fantasy hockey stock that you can.
Stützle, 21, has 59 points through 51 games on the 2022-23 NHL season. The former third overall pick in 2020 has really caught fire in the month of February with 10 points in his last five games. Again, if you’re watching the games right now, you’re seeing the transformation of what will become an eventual superstar. The Rangers and Kings botched the opportunity to take Stützle.
In our Vendetta hockey league, Stützle was taken with the 88th pick. Heading into 2023-24, Stützle is a top 20 play no question. That’s where I’ll have him ranked anyway. It’s only a matter of time before the Jason Robertson / Tage Thompson leap is coming. Some might say it’s already sort of here.
The situation here shouldn’t scare anyone either. Peep this forward group the Sens should have next year; (Stützle, Josh Norris, Brady Tkachuck, Drake Batherson, Claude Giroux, and Alex DeBrincat). The top six forward group here is as filthy as any unit across the league. It’s not like we have to worry about linemates here. The Sens are going to be able to score as long as that group is together.
A superstar is growing right before our eyes and I’m not sure anybody realizes it. Put me down for ALL of the Tim Stützle. Heading into fantasy drafts next year, he’s a must target. For long term fantasy leagues, Stützle should be a player that you’re willing to part with an arm and a leg to go get. Do it now before it’s really too late.
