NFL legend Rob Gronkowski had some high praise for first-round rookie Raiders Tight End Brock Bowers. During a segment on the “Up and Adams” show, Gronk said, “The guy is a winner…The guy is a playmaker whenever the ball is thrown to him, (and) I love his explosiveness after the catch…I feel like he’s on track to be better than myself.”
This comes after a stellar performance from Brock Bowers Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. Bowers had nine receptions for 98 yards, some of which came in extremely clutch situations. Bowers was an instrumental piece of the University of Georgia’s back-to-back National Championship runs in 2021 and 2022 and is making his presence felt right away for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Brock Bowers has played two games this year, ranking third in yards after catch with 58 and tying for first in receiving first downs by a rookie Tight End with 8. He has already made 15 catches for 156 yards and earned nominations for the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week Award in both weeks one and two. He is having the best start to a career ever by a rookie tight end.
These stats are why a future first-ballot hall-of-famer like Rob Gronkowski sees so much potential in Bowers. Gronk is a four-time Super Bowl champion, three of which came as a Patriot and one as a Buccaneer. He was also selected to be a member of the NFL 100th Anniversary Team. Rob Gronkowski is undoubtedly one of, if not the best, Tight Ends in the history of the game.
It will be interesting to see if Bowers can continue putting up all-time numbers. And unlike Gronk, who had the G.O.A.T Tom Brady throwing to him, Bowers has Gardner Minshew as his QB. This should make people even more impressed with Bowers, as Minshew is an inferior QB to Brady. Brock Bowers should be a monster this upcoming Sunday, with the Raiders going against a lowly Carolina Panthers defense.
