Breaking Down The Jacob Eason Pro Day

I never thought in a million years that players would be having Pro Days on YouTube… but here we are. Because of Coronavirus, the Pro Days have been whipped out. Jacob Eason decided to have his own Pro Day… on YouTube. You can see for yourself below.

The normal Pro Day would have done wonders for Eason. He’s a quarterback that’s going to look really good in shorts making throws. That’s really the bottom line. If we breakdown the footage, it really encapsulates what Eason is.

At the beginning of the video, you will see Eason just launching balls 60 plus yards down the field without having to drop back or wind up to do so. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, this is the best pure arm in the entire draft. If you’re looking for a piss missile to develop, Eason is your guy.

Eason isn’t the most athletic guy in the world but his footwork is more than fine. It’s everything you want to see. Drop back and launch off the back foot. Eason has a natural release too. They didn’t have him move around a ton but when they did, I thought he was able to unlock his hips and get to his spot to release the ball.

That’s the biggest thing about Eason. His inability to face and beat pressure a problem. I think the combine showed he’s a little bit of a better athlete than I originally gave him credit for. The scary part is Eason controls the footage so you don’t know what wasn’t included. Still, it was a solid 20 minute workout where he didn’t miss a throw.

I like Eason more than everybody else seems to. The Washington quarterback is getting basically no hype and could wind up being a franchise quarterback. He’s a flier I’d take. How high? That’s another story.
