Bobby Marks Is One Of The Best Resources ESPN Has
I’ll be the first to admit; I’m not fond of ESPN. However, Trey is always fair. Sometimes, people deserve credit. One ESPN analyst does a terrific job and frankly gets zero credit for whatever reason. Bobby Marks is one of the best resources ESPN has. It’s just time for someone to recognize it.
I like to play this game sometimes. If I had to hire one person from ESPN, Fox Sports, etc who would it be? At ESPN, Marks would be very high on the list. There would be no reason to hire Stephen A because I would only bring him to the company to embarrass him. With what Marks does, he’s no lower than five on the list of ESPN employees.
I like to think I know the cap rules in the NBA pretty well. I’m pretty sure I learned the cap rules in the NBA at the age of seven by playing 2K and then proceeded to read the NBA handbook to make sure I understood the rules that even the video game has. Still, even to this day, I’m always checking Marks first on Twitter to see if there are any details I missed at first glance.
Marks is starting a new video series called the ‘Front Office’. It’s to go over all those fun cap scenarios in the NBA while touching base with current and former front office members in the NBA. Marks might be a cap nerd, but he’s really well spoken so it will likely be worth the listen. Thank god for that Nets – Celtics trade that cost Marks his job because we would have been robbed of a lot of great content.
Marks is brilliant on TV. The things he does with the touch screen is still the best segment ESPN does when it comes to the NBA. Call it a respect post. Marks is terrific and everyone seems to take his NBA cap analysis for granted that it’s readily available to the public.
