Bill Belichick Should Do The Patriots A Favour And Retire

It’s time to take Bill Belichick outback and move on. His run was remarkable, but he’s out of touch and needs to be saved from himself.

First things first, Bill Belichick is the greatest coach of all time. However, it is also true that he simply has no earthly idea as to what he’s doing. The most recent of his head-scratching decisions is having Matt Patricia and Joe Judge be major influences and almost co-offensive coordinators. The players themselves are scared of what is happening with the Patriots, according to Greg Bedard.

When the players are concerned about the coaches, that has to be an indicator of something. They are the ones who are on the field performing, and if they have no belief in what is being run or the person who is installing and calling plays, the Patriots are doomed.

This is just one on a mile-long list of questionable things Bill Belichick has done in recent years. Just this offseason, the New England Patriots traded offensive guard Shaq Mason to the Buccaneers for a late-round draft pick. Bill Belichick gift-wrapped an elite guard to Tom Brady for essentially nothing. From a Patriots standpoint, what are you even doing? This setup the Cole Strange pick because it created an unnecessary need and a glaring one at that.

Then, the entire 2021 free agency class, what a mess that was. When I saw it, I said immediately that it reeked of desperation. It was a lot of overspending on average to slightly above average players, and it came back to bite them this year because they were cap-strapped and limited with what they could do. It might have been the entire reason that they ended up trading Shaq Mason in the first place! When you need to give up a top-tier guard for average wide receivers, there’s an issue there.

The entire issue is Bill Belichick and his roster making decisions. They’re just terrible, and he needs to be saved from himself.
