Bilal Coulibaly: Siakam Is ‘Easiest Superstar To Guard’

Bilal Coulibaly: Siakam Is ‘Easiest Superstar To Guard’

The Pascal Siakam hater club apparently includes me and Bilal Coulibaly. I’ve been out on Siakam for a long time. Coulibaly took it a step further. Out of all of the “superstars” in the NBA, the Wizards youngster said via  RMC Sport that Siakam is the easiest to guard.

“I stand by it. … I watch the films, I know what he was about to do when he was going left, spinning around, going right,” Coulibaly told “Run It Back.” “I was like, yeah, he was the easiest superstar to guard.”

In fairness to Siakam, I’m not sure Coulibaly has room to talk smack. As a rookie, the Frenchman averaged 8.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on the season. The Wizards also went 15-67 and hold the second overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Coulibaly, 19, still has plenty of room to grow before anybody takes his opinion seriously.

Meanwhile, the Pacers are still alive in the playoffs and Siakam has mostly shot the ball well (except from 3, which is his entire problem). Siakam averaged over 21 points per game during the regular season after being moved by Toronto.

Back in January, the Pacers gave up Bruce Brown and three first round picks to land Siakam. Add Coulibaly to the list of people that think the Pacers overpaid for Siakam (I am also on that list).

Side note: Can we also stop pretending that he ever belonged in the same class as Jaylen Brown? That debate was stupid. Can we agree on that much at least?
