Philadelphia 76ers star guard Ben Simmons is very confident in himself. In fact, Ben Simmons thinks that he is the best defender in the NBA. He thinks that by the end of this season, he should be more than on the All-Defensive team. He thinks that he should be the Defensive Player of the Year.

Last season Simmons was close to becoming the Defensive Player of the year. However, several injuries, including a lower back injury and a dislocated kneecap, took that chance away from him. However, this season Simmons has not lost his stride on the defensive side of the ball.

“I take pride in guarding the best player on the floor every night. It’s not a one-off thing. If you watch me, I’m typically guarding the best player. And typically the best players are guards, or shooting guards, whatever it is. And I love that. I love the fact that my teammates can look at me and tell me, ‘You got to go out and lock this guy up.’ There’s nights that guys go off, it’s gonna happen. But most of the time I feel like I’m doing a good job and making the right plays. I feel like I’m the best defender in the NBA.”
