Bears, Steelers Agree To Justin Fields Trade
It finally happened. It felt like 800 quarterbacks were on the move this offseason and we were all waiting around to see what was going to go down with Justin Fields. We finally have our answer.
The Steelers have completely overhauled their quarterback room. Fields is the latest piece of news in regard to the QB position in Pittsburgh. The Steelers have sent a 2025 6th round pick that can become a 4th round pick all depending on playing time.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the news:
Let’s catch you up to speed on what you need to know in the most simplistic form possible.
A: The trade package is basically the same blueprint as the Mac Jones deal. The only difference is there are certain variables that might turn it into a 4th round pick depending on playing time. TBD on those details.
B: The Steelers QB room last year consisted of Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and Mason Rudolph. All three are gone. Trubisky was released and later signed with the Bills, Pickett was traded to Philadelphia, and Rudolph signed with the Titans.
C: This year the QB room in Pittsburgh now will contain Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Wilson was acquired for basically nothing and Fields was added for a very late round draft pick.
Did the Steelers upgrade? I think yes, but I’m not positive. Mostly because I’m not sure I’d want Russell Wilson inside my locker room but that’s a story for another day.
Who won the trade? That’s what we’re going to talk about next. Stay locked in on the site for that. Feel free to comment before then.
