The Chicago Bears are a mess. They’re not just a mess. They are ruining players too. Tarik Cohen has been a lightning rod since entering the league. He’s the closest thing to Darren Sproles since the man himself. The Bears have been so bad this year that they’re killing Tarik Cohen. Free Tarik Cohen!
How hard can it be to get Tarik Cohen out in space and productive? Cohen is an electric factory. He’s the human joystick. The All-Madden cheat code that can’t be tackled. The Bears offense has been so brutal that they’re killing this man. As the Bears offense has become more predictable, Cohen’s production has dipped. Cohen’s yard per carry average has dropped from 4.5 per carry to 3.8 and 2.4, respectively. 2.4 yards per carry! YUCK! How is that even possible?
Last year the Cohen played 46 percent of the snaps and recorded 1,169 yards from scrimmage. The Bears scat back isn’t anywhere close to that now. In the Bears loss to the Eagles, Cohen played just 20 percent of the snaps. They’re struggling to figure out if he belongs at running back or receiver. To date, Cohen has 256 total yards and one touchdown.
For a player so explosive and difficult to tackle, Cohen has been totally neutralized. That’s how bad Mitch Trubisky is. He’s such a bad quarterback that it has started to rub off on Chicago’s most lethal weapon. Forget about touchdowns, the Bears can’t get first downs. They have the 3rd lowest offensive plays per game in the league. In 7 starts, Trubisky has 0 touchdowns in 5 of them. If the Chicago Bears needed any more reason to move on from Mitch Trubisky, he’s now starting to kill their weapons.
