The Chicago Bears are screwed. They have the worst starting quarterback in a quarterback driven league. PFF has Trubisky ranked as the 51st best quarterback in football over the past two years. Trubisky isn’t just bad, he’s unplayable bad. I was right, you were wrong. You being, Ryan Pace. I graded Mitch Trubisky as a 6th round prospect. Pace traded up for Trubisky and took him with the 2nd pick in the NFL Draft. There’s only one course of action Chicago needs to take. The Bears need to fire Ryan Pace.
The world finally knows the truth. Mitch Trubisky can’t play. Chicago is living with those consequences. Matt Nagy only has so many gimmicks in the playbook to squeak out wins with the best defense in football. Chicago also knows they can’t bring back the former one year starter at North Carolina. They know they will lose the locker room. It’s already starting to happen. They also know they’re screwed. They have negative cap space and no first round pick. If that’s the case, why would you continue to allow Ryan Pace to figure out the mess he created? It makes no sense.
Pace gambled and lost. He gambled on a one year starter from North Carolina that couldn’t beat out Marquise Williams in college. Pace gambled on a quarterback with awful mechanics and an unproven passer. He doesn’t get to rectify that mistake. Pace has proven that if he’s dumb enough to pick Trubisky with the 2nd pick in the draft, he shouldn’t get another chance to find the next guy.
It looks like it’s going to be a great quarterback class coming up. Chicago won’t be in a position to take any of them. They will have to hope and pray that one falls to the second round. Why would another GM want to do the Bears a favor and let them trade up? This is a team that would win the Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford as their quarterback. Nobody is in a rush to hand the Bears a quarterback in a trade-up scenario. All I know is Ryan Pace created this mess and he shouldn’t get a chance to fix it.
