I’ve never seen a general manager do a more idiotic thing and get praised for it. The guy running the Chicago Bears, Ryan Poles, is a moron. The decision to essentially trade down in the second round to swap Roquan Smith for Chase Claypool is about as brain-dead as it gets. Worse yet, it turns out Poles is a liar too.
Roquan Smith got traded to Baltimore for a second round pick at the NFL Trade Deadline. It turns out that Smith claims Poles told him on numerous occasions that he wasn’t going to be traded.

“I thought Poles would ship me out, but he told me numerous times, ‘I don’t plan to trade you at all,’” Smith said. “So I was like, ‘I guess I won’t be going anywhere.’ He said we’d talk at the end of the season.”
“I took him at his word,” Smith said. “But life happens.”
Smith is one of the best linebackers in football and has made the Ravens look brilliant for trading for the former Georgia standout linebacker. Last week against the Steelers, Smith made his impact look very noticeable coming away with a sack an interception. Was there a more fitting clip than this one I’m about to share?
In five games with Chicago, Claypool has done next to nothing with the Bears. 12 receptions for 111 yards of nothing. Colin Cowherd is really locked in when it comes to the Bears! Praises the Claypool move so that the team can build around this stud running back Chicago has in Armstrong!
