Barstool Sports Fires Coach Duggs
ESPN isn’t the only one firing people before the new fiscal year starts. The legend of COVID has been fired. Coach Duggs became a legend during COVID when we had no sports to watch. He’s now been let go by Barstool Sports.
You have to give Duggs credit. He went out in a really classy way.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about with the Coach Duggs thing, this post does a pretty good job explaining what was going on during COVID. He was the best coach that never was. During a time of no sports, Duggs was a hero and he will always be remembered.
Let’s go over some quick takeaways to the news.
- Duggs made sure to thank Big Cat, Dave Portnoy, and Erika Nardini for his time at Barstool. A classy exit for sure. Even some of the quick hitting jokes were funny.
- Coach Duggs talks about how he wishes he was told more negative things instead of being praised. From a guy on the opposite side of the spectrum, be careful what you wish for. Those scars don’t go away. It’s up to you to create your own motivation. Coach Duggs clearly didn’t have that and just didn’t produce enough content.
- It sounds like the Coach Duggs mantra is dead. At least the character is anyway. All indications point to him going back to being a normal person out of the content game. Do we even know the guy’s name?
Talk about stealing ESPN’s thunder! All these big names getting fired at ESPN, who saw Duggs getting the boot on the same day?
