Barstool Employees Don’t Show Up On First Day Dave Portnoy Buys The Company Back
Unless you have been living under a rock, you know by now that Dave Portnoy has bought Barstool back from Penn Entertainment. Portnoy bought the company back at an insanely low price too. Well, today is Portnoy’s first day back at Barstool. In the least surprising turn of events ever, his employees that have zero hunger didn’t show up on time.
Portnoy put out a video at 9:45 am EST. It was totally dead inside the office. It looked like 95% of his workforce wasn’t on time.
The Barstool founder also wrote a blog. You can read that here. The usual suspects like Smitty, Nate, etc all got roasted for not showing up on time.
Strong people create good times. Weak people create bad times. Bad times create strong people. We know exactly where that bums at Barstool fall. They have zero eye of the tiger. None. We’ll see if that changes now that Portnoy is back to actually owning the company. Especially now that he holds all the hiring cards. He made it pretty clear during Barstool radio that he may start cracking the whip.
To be totally honest; I’m surprised Portnoy is this calm about it. I can promise you if this happened at the future Vendetta office, chairs would be flipped and we would have to hold an automatic survivor episode. I would lose my mind if this happened at this company and I’d be way more angry about it. Then again, that would never happen here because we actually have a culture that people want to work for.
