The talent is there. Prior to Jackson State, Miller was a three star recruit that originally committed to Missouri. That may not seem like a super big deal. However, Missouri does have a track record of producing linebackers and pass rushers. Nick Bolton is pretty damn good…

At the core, Miller is one of those undersized speedy linebackers that can roam sideline to sideline. Take the SWAC stats with a grain of salt but Miller led the conference in tackles in 2021. He was also named a first team SWAC selection. This past year Miller notched 106 tackles.

There’s also some underrated pass rushing ability here. Miller was originally recruited to be a pass rusher. Over the last two years, Miller recorded 8.5 sacks. On those pass rushing situations, Miller could go in attack mode and get after the quarterback. It’s not an array of pass rushing moves but there is speed here.

The Jackson State product also held up well during the week at the Senior Bowl. Never got lost in those coverage drills. If anything, Miller should send Deion a big thank you letter because he’s a much better stand up linebacker compared to pure edge guy. Miller also led his side in tackles during the game.

I have a 5th round grade on Miller. It’s hard to say much more without knowing the full character stuff. At the end of the day, Aubrey Miller is a small school linebacker that didn’t pan out in the SEC but has traits that should be intriguing for NFL teams. He’s a rangy linebacker with speed and tackling ability but how much does his production really mean at the SWAC level?
