Hawks Trade Cam Reddish to Knicks for Picks and Solomon Hill
The New York Knicks are acquiring wing Cam Reddish from the Atlanta Hawks, per sources close to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Knicks also receive Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-round pick from the Hawks in exchange for a 2022 first-round pick and Kevin Knox, according to Wojnarowski.
Reddish was selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and is averaging a career-best 11.9 ppg this season, including multiple 30-plus point performances in December. The 6-foot-8 wing hasn’t been quiet regarding a potential move away from Atlanta, with his wish being fulfilled as the trade window nears a close in just under a month.
Injuries have plagued the 22-year-old’s young NBA career, and as he once again lost minutes to Kevin Huerter and Bogdan Bogdanovic, a move was inevitably on the horizon. With one year left on his rookie deal, Reddish will be looking to make a statement for a Knicks team currently out of the playoff picture. If he can help gets New York back on track, Summer 2023 could be ripe with contract negotiations for Reddish.
Reddish will soon reunite with former Duke teammate R.J. Barrett in New York, and who knows, maybe a certain freak athlete will make the leap from the Big Easy to The City That Never Sleeps to join the pair?
