Atlanta Falcons 2019 NFL Draft War Room

2019 NFL Draft
The Atlanta Falcons did well with the Calvin Ridley pick in 2018. Now the 2019 NFL Draft is here so let’s head inside the war room (Tom Pennington/Getty Images)

The Atlanta Falcons are a team that feels lost. Since Kyle Shanahan left, they really haven’t been the same. They have went from Steve Sarkisian to Dirk Koetter. Both guys real dumb. They also have lame duck head coach Dan Quinn who coaches the defense but the Falcons defense always stinks. The Atlanta Falcons have some work to do during the 2019 NFL Draft. Let’s head inside the war room.

First Round (Pick 14) – I think the Falcons need to go offensive line. The guard tandem of Jamon Brown and James Carpenter isn’t doing it. Brandon Fusco is another option but I think guard is still an issue. I mocked Cody Ford here in my mock. Protecting Matt Ryan should always be a priority so Ford makes sense. If Jonah Williams is on the board, he makes a lot of sense at right tackle. Want to get Matt Ryan back to MVP level? Keep building the offensive line.

Second Round (Pick 45) – The Falcons could go defense here. Best player on the board. Defensive tackle, pass rusher, corner, safety are all options. Maybe they go Isaiah Buggs to pair with Grady Jarrett. Maybe they go corner to find that perfect slot guy the Falcons have been missing. Brian Poole is gone. Maybe Jachai Polite falls down the board. Dan Quinn loves Florida guys.

Third Round (Pick Pick 80) – Running back should be a thing the Falcons address. Tevin Coleman is gone. Devonta Freeman is coming off an injury plagued season. Ito Smith is just okay. Running back is a place the Falcons need to attack. There’s a couple running backs that could be available. Mike Weber, Miles Sanders, Bryce Love, Myles Gaskin, Benny Snell, Devin Singletary, and David Montgomery are all options.

The Falcons actually have a strong roster. They didn’t play like it last year. I really don’t think they have a strong coaching staff in place. The defense is too talented to stink.
