People should be treated on an individual basis. Some people just get IT. Some people do not. We were off to such a great day. Kyle Korver wrote a really good piece on the Players Tribune about White Privilege. If you haven’t read it yet, I recommend that you do.
Hours later, that hateful asshole, Donald Trump decided to respond. MLB and Barack Obama passed a deal during his presidency that would allow teams to freely sign Cuban born players instead of having to smuggle them into the country. Trump being the racist that he is, reversed that deal.
Jeff Passan of ESPN had the details:
I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised. This is the same man that wants to build a wall across the southern border. No mention of a border across Canada, huh. The bottom line is Trump is a hateful racist. If you voted for him, take a long look in the mirror because you are a piece of shit. There is zero reason to keep Cuban players out of Major League Baseball besides the fact that he’s racist. That’s it. End of story.
Lucky for us, Trump lacks the hateful motivation Hitler did. Trump is too busy playing golf. Instead, Trump just throws these digs to remind us that he’s a hateful human being. Trump doesn’t care if the Cuban born players risk their lives or die trying to come over
What’s next? He’s going to have police handcuff Aroldis Chapman during the middle of a pitching outing and have him deported? Shouldn’t we want the best baseball players in the world to compete in MLB regardless of race, color, or background? This ruling today is flat out embarrassing for our country. Looks like human trafficking is back on. It’s a sad day for baseball.
