Arsenal Scheming Swap Deal To Land Victor Osimhen From Napoli?

After being inches away from winning the 2023-24 Premier League crown, Arsenal have their eyes on the transfer market in order to put the Gunners back on top. Left back and a striker appears to be on the bucket list for Mike Arteta and company. Could Arsenal strike a deal to land Victor Osimhen from Napoli?

It appears that Osimhen will move on from Napoli this summer and will carry a € 130 million (£110.8m) release clause. Is there a way to drop that price tag down? It would appear one way to do so is getting Napoli to agree to some sort of swap deal.

According to Corriere dello Sport, an Italian publication, claims Emile Smith-Rowe and Takehiro Tomiyasu are two players that interest Napoli. Smith-Rowe and or Tomiyasu would be deemed as acceptable in some sort of swap for Osimhen. Obviously, Arsenal would still need to pay a sum to Napoli as Tomiyasu and or Smith-Rowe wouldn’t cover the full freight for Osimhen.

Osimhen, 25, would instantly be viewed as an aircraft carrier at striker. Kai Havertz finished the season in that role for Arsenal a year ago scoring 13 goals last season in Premier league action. Still, Havertz was a guy who was viewed as a midfielder for a long time and a move back there could pave the way for Osimhen. It seems more so that the Gunners would look to dump Eddie Nketiah if a move is made for a striker (SunSport revealed Fulham, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Everton would be interested).

If Arsenal miss out on Osimhen, it appears that they’re also working the phones for Benjamin Sesko. Osimhen or Sesko just might find their way at Arsenal next season. It’s highly unlikely the club lands both. It seems to be an either or situation.

If Arsenal can work a swap deal for Osimhen, I’m sure fans will be thrilled considering the team is looking for a new left back anyway. Smith-Rowe only made three appearances for the club this past season and may be out regardless.
