Angel Di Maria Says PSG are Better Off with Messi than Ronaldo
Angel Di Maria has made his allegiances clear. The PSG winger told Argentinian TV channel TyC Sports that it is “much better” that the club signed Lionel Messi rather than Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. Di Maria has played with both Messi and Ronaldo, but described his Argentinian teammate as a player more gifted than the rest.
“Messi is from another planet. You throw a stone at him and he would control it, he beats a man like it is nothing, he thinks quicker than anyone. I have never seen anything like it.”

Messi signed a two-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain after contract negotiations fell through with Barcelona due to La Liga financial regulations. The contract, according to ESPN’s Julien Laurens, will be worth $35-41 million a year. With Messi now officially set in stone at PSG, Di Maria continued his praise of the club’s newest superstar.
“I’ve played with Cristiano, [Neymar], Mbappe, [Wayne] Rooney, [Robin] Van Persie, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, [Karim] Benzema, [Gareth] Bale and honestly I’ve never seen anything like him.”

Di Maria may have some of his minutes sacrificed due to the arrival of Messi in Paris, but he doesn’t seem too worried. The wealth of attacking talent is quite apparent at PSG and Mauricio Pochettino can exhaust every option to find the best XI. This team is the most talented in Europe and the expectations of Messi, Di Maria and more will be as high as ever.
