Andrew Raym 2024 NFL Draft Profile

The 2024 NFL Draft profiles are coming at you fast, and we’ve got another Offensive Linemen profile here for you. Next up on the docket is Oklahaoma’s Andrew Raym. Tyler Guyton, draft profile here, gets most of the shout but I think Raym deserves a little recognition of his own. What does his draft profile look like? Let’s talk about it.

Raym was in Mobile and did a nice job while there, playing both Guard and Center. If you’ve been following along for a while now, you know how much I love Offensive Linemen who can play multiple positions on the line. In 33 games, Raym allowed six sacks and six QB hurries, not terrible for a Center but you obviously want to keep the QB clean.

I think a move outside to Guard could be what the doctor ordered for Andrew Raym. I just think this Center class has nice depth whereas Guard is lacking, he could move up some boards this way.

Raym plays with a nasty streak. Always willing to finish a block to the ground. Hand placement can be a little erratic at times but normally lands hard and in the right place. Quick to hit his first guy then move up into the second level. Never really feels out of a rep, either. The footwork has steadily gotten better over time and is where you want it to be right now, but obviously room for improvement.

While the hands land hard, you’d like to see them get up quicker after the snap. Take Jason Kelce for example, Jalen Hurts has to squat down to be ready for a snap because it comes out so quickly, and that’s because he wants his hand back to block. Has to get it back faster. You’d like to see everything be more routine, feeling like it’s the same rep over and over. His ass sits a little too high at times as well and doesn’t always anchor down.

Andrew Raym feels like a late-round pick. If he stays at Center, he probably gets an undrafted grade from me. I think if he kicked out to Guard, I could see using a seventh-round pick on him. I think a move would suit his playstyle better, but we’ll see if he makes the change. Without a move, I would look to add him as an undrafted free agent but wouldn’t make him a priority.
