Allen Robinson falling where he is right now in fantasy drafts feels like a fever dream. His talent coupled with his situation is a match made in heaven, but it seems like his ADP has already been set by his rough season last year. I’m telling you right now to forget about last season. It never happened because it’s not an accurate depiction of Robinson. The man didn’t care to play on a losing team that franchise tagged him instead of giving him a long contract and it showed in his piss-poor effort. That story is flipped on its head this year with the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams committing to Robinson for the next three years.
For starters, Robinson isn’t washed. He’s a 28-year-old in the prime of his career and just had a 1,000-yard season in the 2020. For the first time in his career, he’s also going to have elite quarterback. The man has been a straight machine churning out great seasons and managed to do it all with below average signal callers. Imagine the numbers he’s going to put up with Matthew Stafford.
Now yes, Cooper Kupp is obviously the No. 1 option, but we all saw last year that there’s plenty of room for a second Rams wide receiver to be a tremendous fantasy option. First, it was Robert Woods who was a solid WR2 option and then came in Odell Beckham Jr., who absolutely lit it up towards the end of the season. I promise you that second option isn’t going to be Tutu Atwell this year. Robinson should face plenty of man coverage and will feast with defenses paying most of their attention to Kupp.
With all this being said, the reason Allen Robinson is a certified league-winner has a ridiculously cheap cost in drafts. In most rankings he’s somehow outside the top 24 receivers and is being drafted in rounds six or seven generally. For a guy that’s destined to be a high end WR2, I think that’s crazy. Please do yourself a favor and capitalize on one of the biggest misconceptions in fantasy football. Allen Robinson is a value in drafts, but I can bet you he won’t be in the middle of the season when you’re trying to trade for him.
