Allen Robinson got Franchise tagged by the Chicago Bears according to Adam Schefter.

The wide receiver will remain in Chicago after the two parties could not come to an agreement on a contract extension last season or during this off-season.

Robinson has led the team in yards in the past three seasons, despite the fact that Chicago has not had the best production at quarterback during his time with the Bears.

He came to the Bears in 2018 after 3 years with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He signed a 3 year deal for $42 million dollars in March of 2018, and has been the most productive player since signing.

He caught over 100 passes this season, totaling over 1200 yards but only scored 6 times in the Bear’s .500 season. He appeared in all 16 games and despite only scoring a handful of times, he had his most yards since joining the team in 2018.

Slapping the tag on Robinson might not be the best thing to do when your best receiver has been very clear he wants to be paid as a top receiver should.

The future is very uncertain in Chicago. There has been mixed reports this off-season about what they will be doing with Mitchell Trubisky. They tried Nick Foles at one point last season, but that wasn’t enough for Chicago and ended up going back to Trubisky in the final games of the season.

The Bears did manage to make the playoffs last year at 8-8. but that is only because of how shitty the NFC was and the extra playoff spot.

TL//DR: Allen Robinson got franchise tagged by the Chicago Bears
