Akintoye Is The Best Rap Artist You Probably Have Not Heard Yet

Young GOAT in the Making?

Akintoye is the best artist you probably have not heard yet. I mean what I said. I personally been stuck in music limbo. Nothing has really grabbed my attention for a while. That was the case, until I came across a YouTube video of Akintoye.

Most types of music, besides country, interest me and I find artists to listen to. Rap is high up there as one of my favorites, but even those I normally listen to have gotten a little stale. Not because they are or have gotten terrible, or not because they haven’t released new music in a while. Mostly because I listen to the same songs over and over again for years on end. I needed something new. Thankfully, Akintoye found his way onto my screen.

Is there a better remix of the Daft Punk classic? Because I can’t think of one nor have I seen one. But it’s not just the videos he puts on YouTube or othe social media platforms. The albums released on Spotify have songs that are diverse and lean heavily on every strength Akintonye has as an artist.

No two songs are the exact same. Listen to one of the more popular mumble rappers, all their songs sound the same. You can’t tell where one song ends and another begins. Akintoye has the hooks, bars, and variety to make each song stand on its own, but fit together into an album.

I listen to a lot of Drake, Lil Wayne, and J. Cole when on Spotify. While I enjoy the evolution of my favorite artists, Akintoye gives me more of what I loved from others. Hard hitting songs that get my blood pumping and can listen to when working out or getting shots up. But Akintoye is able to slow it down on occasion, and those times still land just as good as any other.

Even while writing this, I’m listing to Akintoye’s latest album Vertigo. I’ve made it through all of his albums once, and am working my way back through the second time for each. While I’m a little late to the hype train, I’m fully sold on Akintoye’s talent and cannot wait for more. If you have not listened to him yet, do yourself a favor and go listen. You won’t be disappointed.
