AJ Brown got traded less than a year ago. Is there a chance Brown is dealt for the second time? The Chinese farmer always says maybe.
AJ Brown is giving the Eagles an ultimatum. Pay Jalen Hurts or he wants out. In fact, trade him to wherever Jalen Hurts is long term. Hopefully, that means Philadelphia.
The video is saved at the spot where Brown gives these quotes for those that want to give it a watch.
“I love Philly,” Brown said on Monday’s episode of the “Raw Room” podcast. “And what I’m about to say: You do not pay this man, just ship me off wherever he finna go.”
“Listen, so you’re talking about pressure? Howie, get it done,” he said.
Brown, 25, posted career highs (88 receptions for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns) with Philadelphia in 2022. A year that also included a trip to the Super Bowl. For Brown, you can understand at least where his intentions are. He has no interest in playing for another quarterback at Ryan Tannehill’s tier. It’s clear Brown loves Hurts and wants to continue playing with him.
Hurts will head into the final season of his rookie contract in 2023. As a former second round pick, the Eagles hold no 5th-year option over him. Yes, the Eagles can franchise tag Hurts but I’m sure they don’t want it to get to that point. The longer you wait, the more the price tag goes up. That’s the NFL.
Regardless, this is something to monitor. If the Eagles don’t get an extension worked out with Hurts, does that mean Brown really want out?
