MJF is the prized possession of AEW. The Salt of the Earth showed he has a sweet spot for at least one person, it seems, as he announced his engagement to his now fiancé, Naomi.
MJF recently made his return to All Elite Wrestling at All Out in Chicago at the All Out pay per view. He was gifted the victory while emerging as the joker in the Casino Ladder Match. This means he’s next in line for a shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, after a new champion is crowned in the Tournament of Champions. It’s safe to say things are looking up for MJF as of late.
If you thought MJF was going break character for second, you thought wrong. Despite the engagement, he made sure to let the ladies know they still have a chance. He responded to a recent congratulatory post on twitter with nothing less than what the Devil of AEW has always given us.
He even made sure to throw in a subtle hint that nobody comes before himself in his announcement of the engagement via Instagram. MJF remains one of the best in the business at owning his gimmick. It’s so hard to tell what’s real and what’s not, but that’s what makes him great.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the Tournament of Champions plays out. MJF has seemed to aim most of his insults at Jon Moxley. Putting the title on Moxley for a 3rd time could be the right move amongst all the recent AEW drama. Seeing as he’s a highly thought of, well-respected individual in the AEW locker room, Mox and MJF could potentially put together a world title package that could help restore the company.
