AEW Rampage Preview (11/25/22): What Will The Ocho Have To Say?

AEW Rampage is starting at a special start time Friday. Usually, the show starts at 10:00 pm EST, but this is a special black Friday edition. Rampage will be kicking off at 4:00 pm EST, so set a reminder to make sure you don’t miss the action.

This show has the potential to be a really fun episode, featuring some wrestlers who don’t get much television time and a few major stars. With the fallout from Full Gear and Winter is Coming quickly approaching, there is a lot that can happen. Here’s a preview of what to expect heading into AEW Rampage.

Hikaru Shida in action

Former AEW Women’s World Champion, Hikaru Shida, will be in action on AEW Rampage. Shida has been appearing on AEW television on and off recently. The former Women’s World Champion has seemingly lost her momentum and is looking to get it back. She will be in action Friday and has a chance to pick up some steam. Typically when AEW advertises stars as “in action’ they are facing a jobber in a squash match, so I fully expect that to be the case for this bout.

We Will Hear From Chris Jericho

We will be hearing from ROH World Champion, Chris Jericho, following his massive win on Dynamite.

After retaining his title in a fatal four-way match at Full Gear, Jericho challenged Japanese wrestling legend, Tomohiro Ishii. Ishii is a former ROH champion in his own right and never backs down from a challenge. This was an absolute slugfest that was filled with knife-edge chops and a ton of brutal moves. But ultimately, Jericho came out on top and retained his title.

Since becoming ROH World Champion, Jericho has vowed to destroy ROH’s legacy and he has been successful. Now, we are likely going to hear what’s next for Jericho and possibly get a new challenger on AEW Rampage.

Anthony Henry vs. Darby Allin

Darby Allin is coming off of a big win at Full Gear taking down Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett. On AEW Rampage, Allin takes on Anthony Henry.

Henry has held a few different titles in his career including titles in NWA and Evolve. He’s been wrestling for 20 years, but this definitely the biggest match of his career — he’ll be competing on a big stage against one of AEW’s biggest stars. This is his chance to shock the world and change the landscape of his wrestling career. Meanwhile, Allin is looking to get another win under his belt and keep his momentum going. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a new feud following this match for Allin.

Dark Order vs. Rush, The Butcher and The Blade

The Dark Order have had their issues with Rush and everyone working for him. Rush has been constantly trying to get Dark Order’s Number 10 to work for him, but Number 10 has stood his ground and continued to stand tall with the Dark Order.

It’s also being reported that Rush’s boss, Andrade el Idolo, has been suspended by AEW, so Rush is going to have to take the business into his own hands until Andrade returns. But getting Number 10 under contract with them would be huge.

These two groups have faced off against each other before, but this is another chance at revenge and for the groups to move on following this match on AEW Rampage.

*ROH Tag Team Championship Match*

Top Flight vs. FTR (c)

FTR is having one of the best years of its career. They currently hold the ROH, AAA and IWGP Tag Team Championships and are defending their ROH titles on AEW Rampage. They are facing off against an extremely young, but also an extremely talented team in Top Flight. Darius and Dante Martin are in their early twenties, but you wouldn’t be able to tell. They wrestle like they have been doing it for 20 years and now they get the biggest opportunity they have ever received.

Recently, they have had a string of bad luck with injuries that sidelined Darius Martin for a while. But now they’re back to full health and ready to make a charge for tag team gold. A win for Top Flight would do wonders for their young careers and could change the projection of it as well. Meanwhile, FTR is looking to prove that they are still the top guys and can hang with the new generation of tag teams.
