Could this AEW & NJPW star debut at WWE Money in the Bank?

Will Ospreay is one of the biggest wrestlers in the world today outside of the WWE. He is the leader of United Empire, the most popular faction in NJPW today. He had a match of the year candidate earlier this year with Kenny Omega at Wrestlekingdom 17. Ospreay has often said he has no interest in living in the United States, presumably making it seem unlikely he would ever perform in WWE. However, recently when talking to Chris Van Vliet, Ospreay could not help but get visibly excited at the idea of taking on current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins.

He even went on to tease it more on Twitter by mentioning the short distance between his home and the O2 Arena, home of this year’s WWE Money in the Bank premium live event.

Will Ospreay and Seth Rollins is a dream match wrestling fans have been talking about for years. Every time it has been brought up it is spoken about with an almost certainty that it will never become a possibility.

This was the first time fans got any form of information that the wrestlers themselves would be interested in the match. Fuel was further added to the flame when Seth Rollins decided to respond to Will Ospreay on Twitter.

A simple one-word response was enough to set the internet wrestling community into a frenzy.

The likelihood of this match actually happening is slim since it’s hard to believe WWE would be willing to let Ospreay have a one-time match for the company; Ospreay is not leaving NJPW anytime soon. Though the possibility of this match is a lot higher than it was just a couple of days ago.

Will Ospreay ended the Twitter exchange with Rollins by issuing an informal challenge of sorts.

If this match was to happen, there is no doubt that it would have the potential to be the match of the year. Not only that, but it would shake the foundation of professional wrestling as we know it today. Will Ospreay appearing in a single-match contract with WWE would open up doors for infinite matches fans thought they would never get to see.
