AEW Dynamite Preview (12/7/22): The Devil Speaks

AEW Dynamite is set to feature some high-stakes action. We will be hearing from some of the top stars of the company, plus there are a couple of title matches on the card. AEW always packs their weekly shows with a lot of action, almost too much. So this one is no different because there is also the Dynamite Diamond battle royale to see who will win the Dynamite Diamond ring. With ROH Final Battle this week, AEW will likely be helping build towards that during the show. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they added matches to the ROH Final Battle match card. Needless to say, AEW Dynamite is filled with action and high-stakes segments so let’s take a look at what to expect heading into it.

We Hear From Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley is set to appear on the show. It is going to be interesting to hear what the former AEW world Champion has to say. Moxley has his plate full as of late. He found himself in a feud with a returning Hangman Page. Page and Moxley met face-to-face last week and couldn’t stop fighting each other. They fought all throughout the arena and wouldn’t stop until they got broken up. But even with numerous security personnel at back, the two men couldn’t be stopped.

On top of that, the former manager of the Blackpool Combat Club, William Regal, turned on Jon Moxley. Which is what ultimately cost Moxley the AEW World Championship. But in the following weeks, MJF appeared on AEW Dynamite and went on to attack Regal from behind. That ultimately put Regla on the shelf for the foreseeable future. So with all of this in the mind of Jon Moxley, fans are curious as to what he has to say.

We Hear From MJF

MJF won the AEW World Championship at Full Gear with the help of William Regal. But two weeks after winning the gold, MJF turned on Regla and brutally attacked him from behind. This will be the first time fans hear from MJF since he attacked William Regal last week. MJF will likely have a lot to say, but no excuse will be good enough for why he brutally attacked William Regal from behind.

Tony Schiavone Interviews Jamie Hayter

Tony Schiavone will conduct a sit-down interview with the newly crowned AEW Women’s World Champion, Jamie Hayter. This will be the first time fans will hear from Hayter since she won the AEW Women’s World Championship and since Tony Khan announced that the interim tag on the women’s title is no more. Renee Paquette recently announced on AEW Dynamite that the former AEW Women’s World Champion, Thunder Rosa, has agreed to relinquish the belt. While Thunder Rosa was sidelined with an injury, AEW crowned an interim Women’s World Champion. So now there is no interim tag along with the title and Jamie Hayter will speak about what’s next for the new champion on AEW Dynamite.

Jade Cargill, & The Baddies vs. Madison Rayne, Skye Blue, & Kiera Hogan

Jade Cargill has been extremely dominant since arriving in AEW. She has captured the TBS Championship and is currently undefeated. She hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down and currently finds herself in a feud with Rapper Bow Wow. But she is going to need to stay focused in this match if she wants to win. Once Red Velvet returned, Jade Cargill kicked Kiera Hogan out of the Baddies. Now Kiera Hogan has a chance at revenge and to get a crucial win over her former friends. Hogan is teaming with Madison Rayne and Skye Blue to help take down Jade Cargill and the Baddies on AEW Dynamite.

Jake Hager & Daniel Garcia vs. Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta

These four men are a part of two groups that have hated each other since they were formed. Currently, the future of the Blackpool Combat Club is unknown. With William Regal turning on Jon Moxley and being sidelined, the Blackpool Combat Club is in a disarray. Jake Hager and Daniel Garcia get an opportunity to get a big win as a team and a big win for the Jericho Appreciation Society. At ROH Final Battle, Claudio Castagnoli will be challenging the ROH World Champion, Chris Jericho. If Claudio loses, he will be forced to join the Jericho Appreciation Society. Also, Wheeler Yuta will be challenging Daniel Garcia for the ROH Pure Championship at Final Battle. So we get a preview of what to expect at Final Battle on AEW Dynamite.

*TNT Championship Match*

Darby Allin vs. Samoa Joe (c)

Darby Allin has moved on from his feud with Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett and now has his eyes set on the TNT Championship. Allin is a former TNT Champion in his own right but hasn’t held the title in quite some time. The newly crowned TNT Champion, Samoa Joe, has always been one to accept any challenge. After beating Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs at Full Gear, Samoa Joe won his first title in AEW. But Wardlow has stated that he isn’t done with Joe. So Joe is going to need to stay focused on Darby Allin and not get distracted by Wardlow. Furthermore, this is the first time that Joe and Allin will meet face-to-face, so it is going to be interesting to see how their styles clash on AEW Dynamite.

*AEW Tag Team Championship Match*

FTR vs. The Acclaimed (c)

FTR currently holds the ROH, IWGP, and AAA Tag Team Championships. But they want to add a fourth title to their collection and it won’t come easy. Since winning the AEW Tag Team Championships, the Acclaimed have been on top of the tag team division. They have accepted any challenge and have come out on top. Every time they defend their titles they get better. But they haven’t faced anyone like FTR yet. FTR is having the best year of their careers. They put on incredible match after incredible match and they have the gold to show for it. But they haven’t held the AEW Tag Team Championships in two years. So they are looking to add another title to their collection, but need to take down a crowd favorite in the Acclaimed. Who will walk out of AEW Dynamite as the Tag Team Champions?

Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale

AEW is looking to crown a new Dynamite Diamond Ring winner. For the last three years, MJF has won the royale. He has used the diamond ring to his advantage in plenty of matches. So it just goes to show how important it can be to win this match. The field that has been announced thus far is Jungle Boy, Matt Hardy, Ricky Starks, Ethan Page, Dalton Castle, Brian Cage, and Shawn Dean. However, it is likely that AEW will be announcing more participants before AEW Dynamite. So with an opportunity that is this big, this match can change any wrestler’s future. Just look at how it changed the landscape of MJF’s career.
