David Griffin Confirms LeBron James Is One Of The Biggest Assholes In Human History

We all thought David Griffin was LeBron James’ guy. NOPE! LeBron James is one of the biggest assholes in human history. Today, the list of reasons to hate LeBron got a bit larger. At this point, if you don’t hate LeBron James, there is something wrong with you. Last week, LeBron James spent time taking over an AAU gym. He interrupted a kids basketball game and made it about him. After bragging about how his son missed a dunk, you would think his week couldn’t get much worse. WRONG!

Former Cavs gm, David Griffin spoke out today against LeBron James. His comments were jarring considering the fact that Griffin was considered LeBron’s guy. This was the guy he trusted in Cleveland. Griffin was on the inside of LeBron’s trust. That’s what makes these comments so crazy.

VIA Jake Fischer of Sports Illustrated:

“Everything we did was so inorganic and unsustainable and, frankly, not fun. I was miserable,” Griffin says. “Literally the moment we won the championship I knew I was gonna leave. There was no way I was gonna stay for any amount of money.”

HMM let’s see… Trading for JR Smith, trading two first round picks for Timofey Mozgov, signing Iman Shumpert for big money, giving JR Smith $57 million, trading away Joe Harris, giving Tristan Thompson $80 million, and constantly filling the bench with washed up veterans like James Jones, Mike Miller, Richard Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins, and Channing Frye. No wonder why Griff was miserable. He had to purposely do the wrong thing to appease LeBron. We wonder why the guy was miserable? I would have told LeBron to f*ck off but I guess that wasn’t on the table for Griff. He had to follow orders or be out of a job. Eventually, Griffin just said screw it and wanted out anyway. Can’t blame the guy.

“I didn’t watch the league, and I didn’t love the game anymore,” Griffin says. “I was so fixated on outcome that I just totally lost my joy.” His NBA TV sidestep proved therapeutic. He rediscovered his passion for the game. An appetite to steer a franchise returned, the lingering bad taste from Cleveland crystalizing Griffin’s ideal next destination. “I was kind of chomping at the bit to do it right,” he says.

Key quote right here. “DO IT RIGHT”. Build a team the right way. Something LeBron has never been familiar with. It’s why he bolts after his team gets old and the existing team sucks. The Heat and Cavs are still suffering.

“We won despite our culture to a huge degree. And I knew it. I knew what we weren’t doing,” he says. “There were so many things during that period of time that I wanted to do differently. If you make everything about, ‘It’s a destination. Damn the torpedoes, I gotta get there,’ that might be the only time you get there.”

Another key quote. LeBron James is a headache and David Griffin got a firsthand experience of it. Always has been. He’s not just a headache, LeBron sucks as a person. Throwing teammates under the bus, refusing to be coached, going rouge with play calling, never making teammates better, etc. This is a guy who quits when things aren’t in his favor. He quit this year with the Lakers after they failed to make the Anthony Davis trade. He quit against the Spurs when he felt like the Heat couldn’t win. He quit during the 2017 NBA Finals after Game One after his guy JR Smith choked the game away. LeBron James is one of the weakest mental athletes in the history of sports. Griff knew it.

“There wasn’t a lot else for him,” Griffin says. “I don’t think he’s the same animal anymore about winning.”

Easy translation here. LeBron James is on record for saying that he has nothing left to prove and that his legacy is set. Also, the same guy that threw his teammates under the bus and the very next day missed a game to record music with 2 Chainz. Even 5 years ago, LeBron was never totally about winning. He liked winning because he got the credit. If they lost, he only cared that he didn’t get the blame. If his stats were there, everything was cool.

“The reason is LeBron is getting all the credit and none of the blame. And that’s not fun for people,” Griffin told Fischer. “They don’t like being part of that world.”

Oh, nevermind, he actually said that. This was in response to why nobody wants to play with LeBron. Kevin Durant, of course, said the exact same things months ago. I can’t wait until Anthony Davis turns into Kevin Love. Boy, is that going to be fun to watch. Get ready for a lot of standing in the corner, AD.

Let’s think about this for a second. Griffin has ZERO reasons to speak up about this. Even if he felt this was the case, there’s no reason to share it with the media. Griffin even has a job with the Pelicans. It’s not like he’s out of the league. This is how big of an asshole LeBron is. Griffin felt so strongly about this that he had to come out and say something. I don’t know what more you need to hear. When one of “your guys” is speaking like this about you, we don’t need any more evidence.
