Cincinnati Bengals 2019 NFL Training Camp Preview

I hate the Cincinnati Bengals. I really do. It’s not for any reason other than the fact that they are so boring. How many times do I have to go into a season watching Andy Dalton suck. I can’t take it anymore. I have to cover all 32 teams so let’s get this one over with. Here is your Cincinnati Bengals 2019 NFL Training Camp Preview.

3 Position Battles To Watch:

Irrelevance: 0 playoff wins since 1990

Normally I pick 3 for each team. Again, I hate the Bengals so let’s just get this over with. Don’t come at me with hate either. Well, I don’t really care if you do, but there’s no denying how irrelevant this team is. Win a playoff game this century and then I’ll take you seriously.

Tight End: CJ Uzomah, Tyler Eifert, Drew Sample

I have a better chance at seeing George Washington in the flesh than I do seeing Tyler Eifert play a full 16 game season. Cincinnati just committed a lot of money to CJ Uzomah. Despite having 43 catches in 2018, the Bengals gave him $18 million. Cincy also drafted Drew Sample in round 2 but totally reached for him in the draft.

Middle Linebacker: Preston Brown, Hardy Nickerson, Deshaun Davis

Vontaze Burfict is gone and there isn’t a real replacement on the roster. Preston Brown can do it… with the Bills. In 2017 with Buffalo, he recorded 144 tackles. In 2018 with Cincinnati, Brown notched 44 tackles. Now that number only came in 7 games but he needs to be there without Burfict. Both Nickerson and Davis are young players with potential. Maybe one of them pops and takes the job.

Ready To Breakout: William Jackson

William Jackson didn’t have an interception in 2018. However, that’s not a bad thing. Jackson ranked as the 26th best corner in football according to PFF. Teams have started just throwing the ball away from him. This is a really awesome corner who is on the cusp of stardom. It’s time to start realizing it.

Rookie To Watch: Jonah Williams

Classic Bengals. Step one: Draft Jonah Williams in the first round. Step two: watch Williams hurt himself and miss the rest of the season. Now we get to watch Williams roam the sidelines which is automatically the best way to watch this team.

It’s Time For AJ Green To Request A Trade From The Bengals

Fantasy Sleeper: Tyler Boyd

Talk about taking the leap. Tyler Boyd has established himself as the clear 2nd target behind AJ Green. Boyd had a really good season. 76 catches, 1,028 yards later, and 7 touchdowns later shows that Boyd is a legit fantasy option. Even on a bad Bengals team. Maybe Zac Taylor sparks the offense and Boyd can even top those numbers.
