Mike McDaniel isn’t worried about Dalvin Cook signing with the Dolphins

With rumors flowing around the NFL of Dalvin Cook signing with the Dolphins, think again. Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is already confident with the running back group he already has in South Beach, via Tom Pelissero.

“March 3, 1983, the day I was born, right? Now take a closer look at that date, and that, in fact was not yesterday. So people that are rumored to be tall, short, people that are rumored to be, you know, you’re not going to get this guy. I’m Year 2, Ok? What am I excited about is talking about the most important thing which is the third day of veteran minicamp, and we’ve got a lot of guys that are good players that have an opportunity to get better. Answer your question?

“So the running back group, you know, it’s developed into a really cool group. [I was] very pumped to sign Raheem (Mostert) and Jeff (Wilson) back in the offseason, and then the Washington boys have been outstanding as usual, gaining, just getting better all the time with S.A. (Salvon Ahmed) and Myles (Gaskin), and then we have a couple rookies, which means learning from mistakes. So overall, very happy with their competitive camaraderie. They’re all trying to be the best, but they’re not doing it in spite of each other. They recognize that each one of them can help each other get better, so it’s been a cool camp for them.”

Cook has been on Dolphin watch for some time now. Now, the former Florida State running back even hinted at signing with Miami after he posted a picture on his Instagram in Hard Rock Stadium earlier today.

Is Cook a future Dolphin? Or will McDaniel be just fine with his crowded running back room in year two?
