Ryan Ramczyk Retires From The NFL

We got the Derek Carr shocker retirement reveal today, so it felt like a good time to remind people that the Saints have really been hit with that type of news this offseason. Ryan Ramczyk also retired earlier this offseason, and it’s probably worth covering given what’s going on with this franchise.

The news was first revealed on an Instagram post written by the former stud right tackle.

“What an incredible journey it’s been,” Ramczyk wrote on his Instagram account. “My path to the NFL wasn’t a straight line, it wasn’t the story most people expect. There were moments when people doubted me, moments when I doubted myself. It’s funny how life works out. Sometimes the road less traveled leads to places you never expected, but it ends up being exactly where you were meant to be.”

Ramczyk, 30, isn’t exactly going out poor. He signed a mega extension back in 2021, which should set him up for life. By the way, well deserved, because the former Wisconsin product was a rock for the Saints at right tackle for many years.

Cheers to a hell of a career. The 32nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft earned All-Pro honors three times from 2018 to 2020. He only played seven NFL seasons, but the duration when New Orleans had him and Terron Armstead as their tackles, it was one of the better groups across the league.

Credit to the Saints for trying to get that tackle issue solved. They may have done a good job of trying to replicate that after drafting Kelvin Banks in the first round this year and Taliese Fuaga the year before.
