KSI roasts Jake Paul in challenge to Fury

Popular YouTuber and boxing influencer KSI has issued a challenge to Tommy Fury, while also taking the time to roast rival Jake Paul.

KSI is clearly looking to get in the ring with Fury and understandably so. A fight against Fury would give him a chance to prove that he is a better boxer than Paul.

Tommy Fury, the younger brother of Tyson Fury, earned a decision victory over Paul in February 2022. That loss is the only loss of Paul’s career.

KSI and Paul have long been battling over the status of top influencer boxer. At this point, it seems like Paul has the edge. That would quickly change if KSI manages to defeat Fury.

Paul has earned respect in the combat sports community through victories over MMA fighters Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. The MMA legends all have one thing in common: They are far from their prime. In that regard, KSI has a solid argument. Paul has yet to prove himself against a legitimate boxer which is why he attempted to beat Fury, an undefeated professional boxer.

Despite losing to Fury, Paul has rebounded well. No, he has not fought, but he has a fight booked against Nate Diaz. That is an impressive feat for a social media influencer. Diaz, 38, is also out of his prime, but he will certainly sell pay-per-views. That is probably more important in influencer boxing anyways.

Instead of fighting past their prime MMA fighters, KSI fights past their prime boxers. In his last boxing match, KSI fought Joe Fournier, a 40-year boxer with a 9-0 record. Unfortunately, KSI knocked Fournier out with an elbow and the fight was ruled a no-contest.

Does a fight between KSI and Fury make sense? Should Paul try his luck against a legitimate boxer again? The world of influence boxing is full of questions. Maybe one day KSI and Paul will fight and these charades will stop. I would not get optimistic, though.
