Miami Dolphins Acquire Josh Rosen From Arizona Cardinals

Josh Rosen has been a dead man walking since Kyler Murray was selected first in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. The Kliff Kingsbury and Murray connection just made way too much sense from the jump. That left Rosen out to dry. Well, now Josh Rosen has a new home in South Beach.

The Miami Dolphins have pulled the trigger on a Josh Rosen trade. The expected trade compensation includes the 62nd pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Adam Schefter of ESPN was the first to report the news:

Cardinals traded a 2020 fifth-round pick and QB Josh Rosen to Miami for the 62nd overall pick. With that pick, the Cardinals are selecting WR Andy Isabella.

The Dolphins get their quarterback of the future on a discounted rate. Rosen was selected in the 2018 NFL Draft with the 10th pick. Arizona even traded up 5 spots to take Rosen. Miami essentially takes Rosen 52 spots lower than he was taken. Additionally, Arizona has already paid Rosen’s bonus so Rosen comes with a really cheap contract.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is the Dolphins starter but he really isn’t the long term solution. What’s funny is now the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins have first round quarterbacks from the 2018 NFL Draft. The only team that doesn’t have a young quarterback is New England. Brian Flores now has a quarterback to build around.

Arizona really sold low on Rosen. This may have been the best thing to ever happen to Rosen because he did not play well with Arizona. Rosen completed 55 percent of his throws in 2018 including 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 14 games. He also got abused behind a really bad offensive line. In return, Arizona gets Andy Isabella. He’s a player I do not like at all. A wild reach in my opinion.
