Well, well, well, what do you know. Urban Meyer is back in the news. Everyone knows how this story is going to go.

  • 1: Fake health issues. Retire from coaching.
  • 2: Find gimmick job to stay at Ohio State.
  • 3: Become an analyst for a sports network (Meyer worked for ESPN in 2011 after leaving Florida).
  • 4: Float name out there so rumors fly for next coaching job
  • 5: Accept job at major football program.

Well, folks, we are in stage 3 of 5. Meyer has already faked healthed his way out of Ohio State. He’s already accepted a job as a professor despite the fact that he’s supposed to have health issues. Now Meyer is making the realms again. Meyer is on the verge of accepting a job at Fox Sports to cover college football. What a surprise!

Michael McCarthy of Sporting News was the first to report the news:

“Sports TV viewers may see a lot more of Urban Meyer on TV this year than they thought they would. Fox Sports is close to finalizing a deal to hire the former Ohio State head coach as its star college football analyst, sources tell Sporting News.”

What a perfect way for Meyer to clear the air. No one even remembers the fact that Meyer was suspended for 3 games because of the Zach Smith domestic violence scandal. Now he gets to leave that smoke behind and start all over. One year at Fox Sports and look out. It’s only a matter of time before USC comes calling. That sunshine weather is just perfect. No headaches with the sun out all the time!
