Would Deion Sanders Ever Consider An NFL Head Coaching Job?

Would Deion Sanders ever consider a head coaching job at the NFL level? Don’t count on it. Coach Prime has no desire to jump from the college to the pro game. His reasoning makes a lot of sense. Hard to coach a guy who’s already rich. Prime cares way more about making an impact on the youth.

VIA Interview with Donovan X. Ramsey of GQ:

“I just have no desire to coach rich men,” Sanders said. “I’d rather have an impact on a younger man that needs direction.”

Well, there is your answer. Money certainly isn’t a factoring anymore. Deion makes plenty coaching in college and I’m sure those Barstool checks help the pocketbook and in the recruiting game. I think the real question that should be asked is if a super duper program like a Michigan or Florida type job would ever consider coach prime. Colorado is certainly a power 5 job but no where close to being considered an elite job.

Coach Prime will make his debut with Colorado this upcoming Fall. Prime got some negative feedback after leaving Jackson State. I’m just not sure how anyone could do so. Especially given all the good that Prime did for the program. He’s going to turn this Colorado program around too just like he did at Jackson State. Prime is already winning the recruiting battles as he will be joined in Boulder by his son Shedeur and even Travis Hunter.

Colorado was horrible in 2022 compiling just one win all season. The expectations are way higher now with Deion Sanders walking through those doors. Can they really be competitive in the Pac 12 in year one? I can’t wait to find out.
