The long apology can be summed up by Bosco saying he will change and knowing that he is owed nothing when it comes to forgiveness. The full apology goes as follows:
I screwed up badly and know I have lost a lot of trust in a lot of people. I know my actions have been wrong and for that I apologize deeply. It’s going to be a long road back and there’s a lot of repairs that need to be made along the way the most of which is myself. I again apologize to anyone over the years I haven’t treated correctly and know I’m owed nothing in terms of forgiveness but I swear I will make changes and learn from mistakes and well as do some serious self reflecting. I understand for some people it will never be the same. And that’s a problem I created and have to live with. To get back from a pitfall, and I hit a major one you have to accept what you did and change day by day. Today is day 2. I vow for each day to improve more than the one before. – Rico Bosco via his Twitter.
This whole situation has been messy. First, going after families is just wrong. If you have an issue with someone, take it up with them. Attacking family and loved ones is off-limits and everyone should know that. Just over a week ago it was announced by Dave Portnoy that Bosco was in fact leaving Barstool Sports. Then, there was talk about Bosco heading to Audacy. Then after all of that, as soon as yesterday Bosco decided to return to Barstool Sports. Talk about a wild turn of events with everything that has happened.
However, some people will not be pleased with this, and Kirk Minihane thinks it’s a crazy move. Then we had the question of whether a survivor-style vote would occur to decide Bosco’s return.
It has been an interesting situation. How the return of Rico Bosco will affect things at Barstool Sports is worth keeping an eye on.
