Johnny Gaudreau Lies About If He Regrets Signing With Columbus

Johnny Gaudreau made the biggest mistake of his life this offseason when he signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets. You know it. I know it. Anybody that has a shred of intelligence that watches hockey knows it.

As we stand today on November 15th, 2022:

New Jersey is first in the Metro with a record of 12-3-0. Also, Ondrej Palat has been hurt so imagine how good this team would be had Gaudreau just done the right thing and signed with Jersey?

Columbus is dead last in the Metro with a record of 4-9-1. Their season is over already. Yes, they have suffered some injuries but who hasn’t? This team stinks and can’t defend a lick. Injuries or not, this team was never winning games with terrible defense and goal-tending.

Of course, the man known as Johnny Hockey was scheduled to do an interview with  ESPN’s Emily Kaplan. When asked if he regrets signing with down bad Columbus, Gaudreau was forced to lie and say he’s happy despite the fact that the Jackets will never win anything.

“I love the city here in Columbus. I love the team here. I’m really excited to be here,” Gaudreau told ESPN’s Emily Kaplan in a recent interview. “Even if it wasn’t the start we wanted, I wouldn’t change my decision for the world.”

“I’m here for the long run. I obviously want to make the playoffs this year, but if it doesn’t happen yet, you have to learn from those things. I’m not putting it past our team to get out of this funk, but I also know whatever happens, we have a lot to look forward to.”

The sad part of all of this is that Gaudreau is a Flyers fan from south Jersey. He may have hated the Devils growing up and just figured he would rather sign with anyone over the Devils. Because that has to be the only reason he didn’t sign with this Devils team.

It’s going to be the biggest mistake of his life and passing on the opportunity to play with Jack Hughes will prove that to be the case. Hughes is a freak and will take this Devils’ team to new heights. Just remember, this Jersey team is young and only getting better. Stanley Cup in the next three years is not out of the question.
