2022 NFL Best Games of the Week: Week 1

The dark days of summer are behind us. We made it. The best time of the year is upon us: the opening week of the NFL! We all survived the preseason, all our fantasy drafts are wrapped up, and now we can kick back and enjoy the NFL and cheer on our favorite teams. Vendetta Sports Media will bring you what we believe to be the best games of the week. We are also doing this for college football, if you want an example, click here. Let us rejoice and preview the must-watch games for Week 1 of the NFL season.

Honorable Mention(s): Steelers vs. Bengals, Eagles vs. Lions, New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins

5) Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks

  • Where: 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN/ABC
  • Line: Broncos -6.5

You will notice a trend with this list of the best games of the week for Week 1, but I won’t spoil it. The Seattle Seahawks welcome back former quarterback Russell Wilson, who they traded to Denver this offseason. It will be fascinating to see the reaction Wilson gets, playing in Seattle as the road QB for the first time. How will the new look Broncos fare under new head coach Nathaniel Hackett? Does this Seahawks franchise stand a chance under either Geno Smith or Drew Lock this season, or will they be contending for the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft next year?

4) Cleveland Browns at Carolina Panthers

  • Where: 1 p.m. ET, CBS
  • Line: Panthers -2.5

Noticed it yet? The trend was quarterbacks playing against their former teams. Baker Mayfield was shipped out to Carolina and won the starting job. He now seeks revenge after his former organization chose Deshaun Watson over him. Can Mayfield play spoiler in Week 1 and prove the Browns wrong, or do the Browns have enough firepower and talent to get the job done on the road?

3) Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers

  • Where: 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS
  • Line: Chargers -3

One of the biggest topics of discussion at the end of last year was the ending of the Las Vegas Raiders game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Both teams had a chance to make the playoffs if the game ended in a tie, and we almost got just that. You know what happened next. Now, with an upgraded roster on both sides, could we see an explosive, high-scoring shoot-out like last season? Both teams, as previously mentioned, definitely improved from a season ago, and will be looking to be a real threat in a LOADED AFC West.

2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys

  • 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC
  • Line: Buccaneers -1.5

The Sunday night game takes the No. 2 spot on our best games of the week, because of course a game between Tom Brady and America’s Team is near must-see television. The Buccaneers and Cowboys are looking to better their 2021 season, which both ended in heartbreaking fashion in the playoffs. Will this be the year that Dak Prescott takes the leap and rises to superstardom, or can Brady make one last push for a Super Bowl?

Our Game of the Week) Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Rams

  • Where: 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC
  • Line: Bills -2.5

You knew that the first game of the year would be the game of the week. I would argue that no matter who was playing, the first game of the year would take this spot because it is the inaugural match of a new NFL season. In 2022, it just so happens to be the two teams most fans and writers believe to be the eventual Super Bowl matchup. Can the Los Angeles Rams start off their quest to go back-to-back with a statement win, or will Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills defeat the defending champs on the road and put the rest of the league on notice?
