Nate Diaz Announces Combat Sports Promotion ‘Real Fight Inc.’

Nate Diaz is one of the biggest stars to ever enter the UFC octagon. The Stockton, California, native is known for his ‘real’ fighting style. Diaz is now flipping the script as he applied for a promoter’s license for his combat sports promotion named Real Fight Inc. Diaz took to Instagram to make the announcement.

Real Fight Inc. embodies Diaz’s fighting style. The promotions brand is, “Real Ninjas. Real Fighters. Real Shit.”

The promotion will cover more than just MMA. It will host various combat sports with a focus on boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu events.

This news comes off the back of Diaz’s upcoming fight against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279. It is important to note that this will not affect Diaz’s fighting career.

“The new venture has no bearing on his status as a fighter, where he will continue to be very active,” Team Diaz said in a statement. “Real Fight Inc. is his expansion into the business side of the sport where he has been a fixture for close to 20 years.”

Do not be surprised if we see Diaz fight in Real Fight Inc. If this is the case, not only would he be able to hand pick opponents, but he could utilize his fights to grow his promotion. When Diaz fights, people watch.

Diaz’s expansion into the promotion coincides with his last UFC fight. Diaz has made it clear that he wants out of the UFC and his contract will expire after UFC 279, making him a free agent. Diaz’s disgruntled status with UFC brass will finally come to an end or at least cease. Poetically, White said the following when asked about fighter pay at UFC 261.

“Listen, if you don’t like it, go start your own MMA league and pay ‘em whatever you want to pay ‘em. This is mine and this is the way we’re doing it.”

Over the last handful of years, UFC fighters have begun to start or buy or buy MMA promotions. Most notably, Khabib Nurmagomedov purchased Gorilla Fighting Championship and renamed it Eagle FC while Jorge Masvidal started iKon FC.
