Vendetta Sports Media Fantasy Football: Ranking Each Team

It is fantasy football draft season. I would say it is fantasy football season, but if you follow us here at Vendetta Sports Media you would know fantasy football content gets churned out all summer. For the 2022 NFL season, Vendetta has assembled an eight-man fantasy football league. The draft is in the books, and I am here to rank each team, one through eight. I cannot fathom how this could upset anyone so let’s try and get through this with as little controversy as possible. In all honesty, the majority of the teams are pretty solid. Just about everyone has a solid shot at winning this league. If you are interested in watching the draft, it will be uploaded to our YouTube.

Before we get to the fun part here is a quick run-through of the league settings.

  • Eight-man league
  • Non-PPR
  • Auction draft with a $250 budget
  • Superflex lineup with a 20-man roster (No defenses)
  • Best Ball
  • You can drop players but they count against your cap unless they are on IR when you drop them.

1. Trey Daubert

Is Trey my boss? Yes. Did I put him in the No. 1 spot to earn brownie points? No. I like Trey’s team because there is a lot of risk involved, but he leaves himself safety nets. Everyone knows that Christian McCaffrey is a stud when he is on the field. He either puts up massive numbers or, worst-case scenario, Trey gets $47 of cap space when he goes on IR. From there, Josh Allen, Javonte Williams, and Travis Kelce create a great core.

Now the risk, Cam Akers has league winner potential. If he fails to hit that potential, Darrell Henderson will steal his touches, hence why he is on the bench. The same can be said for the high-upside with Rhamondre Stevenson while Damien Harris remains in the backfield. With the rest of the roster, Jameis Winston, Trey Lance, Zach Wilson, and Chris Godwin are all high-upside players. That is ideal for best ball. Oh, he will have DeAndre Hopkins Week 7 too.

  • Christian McCaffrey $47
  • Travis Kelce $26
  • Josh Allen $42
  • Javonte Williams $27
  • Rhamondre Stevenson $8
  • Cam Akers $14
  • DeAndre Hopkins $10
  • Gabriel Davis $9
  • George Kittle $14
  • Ryan Tannehill $3
  • Jameis Winston $8
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster $12
  • Trey Lance $10
  • Chris Godwin $5
  • Harrison Butker $1
  • Zach Wilson $1
  • DK Metcalf $5
  • Tyler Bass $1
  • Damien Harris $1
  • Darrell Henderson $1
  • Cap: $5

2. Chickster

Chickster has a three-headed monster at running back with Najee Harris, Dalvin Cook, and Joe Mixon. That high investment in running backs left Chickster in a position where he cannot spend as such at receiver. To counteract that, he filled the bench with strong receiver options. It’s best ball, at least two of those receivers should produce at a sufficient level weekly. He has a nice Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen stack that should help that. As long as Carson Wentz and Baker Mayfield do not lay an egg in the same week, Chickster will be in a good spot.

  • Najee Harris $43
  • Darren Waller $26
  • Dalvin Cook $42
  • Joe Mixon $31
  • Keenan Allen $20
  • Cordarrelle Patterson $12
  • Justin Herbert $37
  • Michael Thomas $13
  • Rashod Bateman $7
  • James Cook $5
  • Carson Wentz $4
  • DeVonta Smith $4
  • Jarvis Landry $1
  • Michael Gallup $1
  • Darnell Mooney $1
  • Robert Woods $1
  • Baker Mayfield $1
  • James Robinson $1
  • Cap: $0

3. Garrett Burroughs

In my eyes, Garrett nabs the No. 3 spot with the depth of his roster. He obviously has great options like Jonathan Taylor and Deebo Samuel at the top too, but the value in the players he nabbed in the $8 to $15 range makes this roster strong. For example, Dameon Pierce is looking to break out and $13 is a good price for that. I doubt Garrett has a problem finding nine competent starters each week.

  • Jonathan Taylor $43
  • Deebo Samuel $38
  • JK Dobbins $28
  • Kyle Pitts $20
  • Antonio Gibson $6
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown $9
  • Brandin Cooks $12
  • DJ Moore $11
  • Jalen Hurts $21
  • David Montgomery $9
  • Dameon Pierce $13
  • Dalton Schultz $11
  • Trevor Lawrence $9
  • Michael Carter $4
  • Hunter Renfrow $5
  • George Pickens $8
  • Daniel Carlson $2
  • Devin Singletary $1
  • Tyler Lockett $3
  • Kenny Pickett $1
  • Cap: $5

4. Chad Bauman

Chad has a very strong team on his hands. He certainly has the best collection of quarterbacks. His quarterback and super flex spots will put up big numbers on a weekly basis. In my opinion, Chad’s roster is not as strong as others because he is not as skilled or deep at running back or receiver. Do not get it twisted, Devante Adams will be great, and Derrick Henry could be the RB1 by year’s end. I would just like to see another impact player at each position.

  • Davante Adams $42
  • Patrick Mahomes $37
  • Dak Prescott $22
  • Derrick Henry $40
  • Younghoe Koo $3
  • James Conner $7
  • Jake Elliott $1
  • Adam Thielen $10
  • Aaron Rodgers $19
  • Jerry Jeudy $7
  • Travis Etienne $10
  • Tee Higgins $11
  • Matthew Stafford $11
  • Mike Gesicki $5
  • Jacoby Brissett $3
  • Miles Sanders $3
  • Dallas Goedert $8
  • Chase Claypool $1
  • Cap: $3

5. James Herrick

If you ignored the byline when opening this article, this team is mine. I find it slightly harder to objectively rank my own team, but I will do my best. On the flip side of that, I can give you insight into what I was thinking while I was picking.

I did not break the bank for any player in the draft. I tried to find value in players that would go in rounds two and three in snake drafts. At the receiver position, I was able to do that. Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, and CeeDee Lamb should carry weight. Since this is best ball, I do not have to worry as much about bad weeks either. Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, Kirk Cousins, and Mac Jones should score well. I fell a little short at other positions. I do not love Fournette, but the non-PPR format should help with that. Swift may struggle, but I value his upside. I am a believer that the Breece Hall hype train has been excessive, but I got him at a good price. I have some talent at tight end — nothing too tremendous though. I would love to see Pat Freiermuth break out. Overall, I like my team; however, I see some flaws.

  • Leonard Fournette $16
  • DeAndre Swift $34
  • Stefon Diggs $23
  • Tyreek Hill $25
  • Mike Evans $19
  • Breece Hall $6
  • Kirk Cousins $12
  • Mac Jones $4
  • Tom Brady $12
  • CeeDee Lamb $29
  • Kareem Hunt $4
  • AJ Dillon $13
  • Pat Freiermuth $7
  • Dawson Knox $4
  • Russell Wilson $11
  • Zamir White $2
  • Terry McLaurin $5
  • Chris Olave $5
  • Evan McPherson $1
  • Rachaad White $1
  • Cap: $17

6. Aarav Raina

At first glance, I loved Aarav’s team. It is very balanced. Justin Jefferson will be an elite producer. He found a lot of good value in the $15 to $20 price range. There are plenty of reasons to love AJ Brown, Michael Pittman, and Allen Robinson at that price point. His bench has a lot of upside, too. My issue with Aarav’s team is that he only has two quarterbacks on the roster. I would not trust Lamar Jackson and Justin Fields to both produce at an elite level every week; however, he has eight dollars and two roster spots. Maybe he addresses the issue — I imagine he will. With that being said, I cannot give him a high ranking without that issue being solved.

  • Justin Jefferson $49
  • Lamar Jackson $36
  • Alvin Kamara $25
  • Saquon Barkley $27
  • A.J. Brown $20
  • Michael Pittman $20
  • Justin Fields $12
  • Allen Robinson $15
  • Zach Ertz $9
  • Elijah Moore $7
  • Chase Edmonds $10
  • Cole Kmet $1
  • Christian Kirk $3
  • Brandon Aiyuk $1
  • Rashaad Penny $2
  • David Njoku $1
  • Drake London $2
  • Joshua Palmer $1
  • Cap: $8

7. Jackson Law

I really liked Jackson Law’s team at a first too. There is a lot to like. Right off the bat, we have a Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow stack. He has a good group of wide receivers with Chase, Mike Williams, Jaylen Waddle, and Marquise Brown. Aaron Jones should produce, but the non-PPR format hurts his ceiling. Ultimately, Jackson’s team slid down the ranks when I counted only three running backs, two of which are Ezekiel Elliott and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. I like both players more in best ball; however, another solid option at the position would be nice. After all, he does have open roster slots that he could fill with running backs.

  • Ja’Marr Chase $47
  • Joe Burrow $33
  • Aaron Jones $21
  • T.J. Hockenson $13
  • Courtland Sutton $20
  • Ezekiel Elliott $12
  • Mike Williams $14
  • Tua Tagovailoa $12
  • Jaylen Waddle $16
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire $8
  • Deshaun Watson $10
  • Hunter Henry $9
  • Jason Sanders $1
  • Noah Fant $3
  • Marquise Brown $12
  • Davis Mills $5
  • Cap: $14

8. Lil Chickster

This team has Lil Chickster written all over it. Truthfully, this needs more context, I suggest you watch the draft video for that. My issue is that he overpaid for a lot of players. Derek Carr is not a $35 quarterback in this league. Could he have a top-five season? Yes, but that is not for certain. Austin Ekeler will be hurt by the non-PPR scoring format. Zamir White may take Josh Jacobs’ job. The lack of depth here could make it a long season for Lil Chickster. Cooper Kupp, Nick Chubb, and Kyler Murray will have to put this team on their back. Hopefully, he spends his $13 wisely to add some backup.

  • Austin Ekeler $34
  • Cooper Kupp $41
  • Derek Carr $35
  • Nick Chubb $30
  • Mark Andrews $27
  • Kyler Murray $26
  • Diontae Johnson $15
  • Josh Jacobs $9
  • Justin Tucker $3
  • Elijah Mitchell $10
  • Tony Pollard $7
  • Cap: $13
