Will Sports Media Trades Actually Become A Thing?
I have a secret to share but I’m afraid I may have to reveal it way sooner than I want to. I’m a general manager at heart. It’s what I wanted to do my entire life. The total value of the employees is the total value of the business. You best believe when it’s time to hand out real contracts here. If another company wants one of my guys and that person wants to leave, I need something in return. Smart people don’t lose assets for nothing. Even in the sports media world.
You see, when it’s time to sign real contracts here, I’m not letting anybody go to free agency. Most of the people will want to stay here anyway but anybody with less than three years to go on the contract needs a new one. That’s just the way it’s going to be. Don’t worry, I ride for you if you ride for me. I’m the best boss out there so nobody will want to leave anyway. It’s just in case someone gets an offer we can’t match.
Unfortunately, Dave Portnoy let the cat out of the bag. Maybe unintentionally but it still happened. Coley Mick quit Barstool and now is requesting some sort of trade if Coley plans to leave for a rival sportsbook. It’s not surprising that Portnoy uncovered this rock but it’s what I’ve been planning this whole time.
Someone makes Chickster a Godfather offer, you think I’m losing him for nothing? Not a chance. You’re trading with me. I want something in return. Same goes for all the real people here. I just want to know when and if this will actually become a thing.
