Tim White, Former WWE Referee, Passes Away

WWE announced on June 19th, that longtime referee, WWE official, and talent agent, Tim White had passed away at the age of 68.

Tim White began his career as Andre the Giant’s assistant. Shortly after, he would go on to become a full-time referee for WWE in 1985. He had a long and noteworthy career in WWE not only as a referee, but also as a WWE official and a talent agent spanning over 20 years. He refereed some of the most iconic matches of all time, including Mankind vs The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match at the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 1998.

Tim White’s referee career would come to an end after he suffered a shoulder injury in a Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and Chris Jericho at the Judgement Day pay-per-view in 2002. He would continue to be in the company as an official and talent agent up until 2009. You can see the impact that he had on the entire industry, by the many wrestlers and people who were around him that are speaking out about how much he meant to them.

Tim White brightened every room he walked into & the WWE locker room was especially lucky to have him. Being around Timmy on several PR tours was a joy! We would get our work done & meet after and he would tell old road stories & we’d laugh til the sun came up. Cheers, sir 🍻

Beyond sad to learn of the passing of Dave Hebner and Tim White. 😢

Had the pleasure of working w/ them for many years while a part of the @WWE family.

These few tweets are just a glimpse into how much Tim White meant to every fan, every wrestler, and anyone who ever met him. He had such a positive impact on everyone who met him, worked with him, or even just saw him thought the television screen. He will be deeply missed.
