Broncos Name Nathaniel Hackett As Their Next Head Football Coach

After the departure of Vic Fangio, the Denver Broncos found their next head coach. With Fangio favoring the defensive side of the ball, Denver went offense and have replaced him with Nathaniel Hackett. Hackett, formerly the Packers offensive coordinator, will get a chance to revamp this Broncos offense in a brutal division.

Hackett, 42, has had an interesting NFL journey. Hackett spent the last three years in Green Bay. Coaching Aaron Rodgers to what’s expected to be back-to-back MVP Awards is a hell of a resume builder. Most notably, Hackett was the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville during the Doug Marrone era. It’s the best football Blake Bortles ever played and helped get them to the AFC Title game.

Who Are the Giant Head Coach Candidates In 2022?

Overall, the Broncos have a strong roster. It was a top five defense (under Fangio anyway). The point being, there are pieces to work with here. It’s just a brutal division and there are no real answers at the quarterback position. Will Aaron Rodgers consider Denver? Will they role with Teddy Bridgewater again to start the year? Have they given up on Drew Lock? A lot of questions that need to be answered here.

Hackett didn’t call plays in Green Bay (which is kind of concerning) but has probably done enough to deserve a shot as an NFL head coach.
