Aaron Rodgers Minced No Words In His Latest Press Conference

Aaron Rodgers is a bad, bad man. Anyone who watches football should know this by now. However, Rodgers has turned even more heads in his most recent talk with reporters. The reigning NFL MVP called Hub Arkush a “bum” in a press conference earlier today. For those who don’t know, Arkush is a Chicago journalist. He also is one of the 50 voters for the NFL’s MVP award every year. Arkush made headlines after publicly stating that he would not vote for the Packers legend. His reason? Rodgers is the “biggest jerk in the league” in his book.

Let’s make it very clear. Rodgers might not be the most heart-warming or lovable player in all of sports. But he has a damn good case for being one of the best and at least likable players. He is quietly making a LeBron James or Tom Brady-esque case for getting better with age. Winning back-to-back MVP awards at age 37 and 38 is nothing short of remarkable. Silencing Arkush in classic Rodgers fashion will certainly fire up fans and spectators alike.

Rodgers did not only slam Arkush for his comments. The veteran star also called for his ability to vote in the future should be revoked. He saw the cause of beef with Arkush being that he was not vaccinated. Even though other arguments were made, such as that Rodgers hurt his team in the offseason with his trade request, #12 saw eight through it. Rodgers toyed even more with the Bears loyalist by pondering if he would like to add another letter to the MVP acronym.

“If he wants to go on a crusade, and collude, and come up with an extra letter to put on the award just for the season and make it the Most Valuable Vaccinated Player, then he should do that. But, he’s a bum and I’m not gonna waste any time worrying about that stuff … It’s surprising that he would say that. I knew this was possible.”

Arkush has sort of addressed the news. While he did apologize for what he did, he made no mention of Rodgers. He apologized to his colleagues and fellow voters for putting them in a poor position. He regretted jumping the gun and making his thoughts known before the MVP award was handed out. Arkush did accept the mistake he made but absolutely dodged the subject of Rodgers and his thoughts on the situation. Look, from my pretty unbiased perspective, it looks like a man shaking in his boots. Aaron Rodgers is not a great person to piss off, and it looks like Arkush just wants to bury his head in the sand.

Live In The Present

Even if the Green Bay Packers have a ticking time bomb with Aaron Rodgers, now is not the time to worry. They have a home-field advantage within reach with the NFL’s best record. Even more encouraging is that Tom Brady looks to be quite short-handed. Chris Godwin’s season-ending injury and Antonio Brown’s more than bleak future in Tampa give the Packers even more of a leg-up. By no means does it mean they should overlook the defending champs, but it does help much more than not. Aaron Rodgers looks to be heading into the postseason in peak form, especially after this memorable clap-back.
