2020 ‘Bubble’ standout Duncan Robinson will be staying in Miami and will ink a five-year, $90 million deal with the Heat, as first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Heat have opened 2021 NBA free agency with a bang after signing Robinson, as well as extending talisman Jimmy Butler to a max contract and bringing veteran point guard Kyle Lowry to South Beach on a three-year deal. And it appears that Miami has signed defensive hound and NBA sneaker king P.J. Tucker to a deal too, according to Shams Charania.
Duncan Robinson has been an integral component of the Heat’s success on the offensive end. The 6-7 wing averaged 13.1 points per game last season on 40.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Much of the Heat’s offensive sets for the former Michigan Wolverine come on catch-and-shoot threes off of down screens and curls. With Lowry now in the fold, Robinson can certainly expect to get more looks next season.
The Heat-Robinson relationship appears to be healthy also, with the 26-year-old telling the South Florida Sun Sentinel this just last month.
“But, I mean, it’s no secret that I’ve loved my time in Miami. And I’d love to try to make something work with Miami.”
