Kyler Murray Was Never A Cowboys Fan: “They Were Always Ass”

Kyler Murray is from Texas. More specifically, he was born in Bedford, Texas, and he went to school in Allen, Texas. Both are pretty close to Dallas in their own right. Usually, when one is to choose an NFL team, they choose a team probably close to their proximity, in this case, it would be the Cowboys. Not Kyler Murray though, he was never a Cowboys fan. For good reason, it seems too. His quote provided by ProFootballTalk after he was asked if he was ever a Cowboys fan:

They were always ass.”

Quite simple and to the point. There is a full 10-minute interview with Kyler Murray on that ProFootballTalk link, but this seems to be the most vital piece of information from the interview. One has to wonder if the Cowboys weren’t Kyler’s team, who was? The only other team in Texas is the Texans, but if the Cowboys were ass, so were the Texans, so probably not them. In terms of proximity, the next best are the Saints in New Orleans or the Cardinals in Arizona, which just happens to be the team he is playing for now.

There is also a possibility that he was a 49ers/Raiders fan or even a Bears fan. How? Well, with a little bit of research from Wikipedia, his uncle, Calvin Murray, was a former professional baseball player for the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, and Texas Rangers. With Kyler Murray being a great baseball player, enough to go pro, maybe his love for baseball could be from his uncle. Who knows? I’m sure the Arizona Cardinals are his favorite team now, for obvious reasons.

I just like to shit on the Cowboys. Being from Texas, Cowboy fans are the worst. They think they’re going to win the Super Bowl every year and fail almost every time. Can’t blame them for being passionate though. Just like I can’t blame Kyler Murray for never being a Cowboys fan. A smart decision on his part for sure.
