Different Types of SimBull Portfolios

SimBull Portfolios

Like the stock market there are various ways to invest in SimBull, but which portfolios are the best?

On SimBull you can invest in sports teams like they are stocks and each team is assigned a value. The goal is to buy the shares at a low price and as the team gets better your share price goes up and you can sell your shares for a profit.

Also in this market, if your team wins you earn dividends and your account value grows. So which is best, buying high priced shares and earning a lot of wins, or buying teams on the low and wait for the team to get better and rebuild?

Buying Low – Selling High

Well Duh, this is basic economics but it also applies to the SimBull market. When we first partnered with SimBull in March, I gave out the SimBengals as the best long term value. Their shares were around $20, and I bought those shares believing in Joe Burrow. Now, (after the draft), they are the most expensive team in the ENTIRE SimBull market, not even just the most expensive NFL team.

Buying a team like the SimJets ($26.50) in May of 2021 would be the best example for this type of investment strategy now. IF, and big IF, you believe in Zach Wilson, Joe Douglas and new head coach Robert Saleh, this is a team you buy now with the hope they are competing for a division title in the next three to five years.

Buy High – Earn Dividends

Normally I hate the idea of buying stocks at their peaks, but in SimBull having that type of portfolio might not be the worst idea. In the leagues that have tons of games, buying higher priced teams that win consistently can be beneficial. In Major League Baseball, if a team wins 20 games, you earn a dollar back in dividends. Now that might not seem like a lot of money, consider that if the Dodgers win 100 games you get five dollars into your account, essentially giving you a discount.
