Best Picks In The Second Round Of The 2021 NFL Draft

We saw a lot of talent go in round one, but some fell into the second round. Teams added a lot of roster-changing players in this one, but here are the best picks of the second round.

Terrace Marshall Jr. : Carolina Panthers

Easily one of the best picks in round two. There must be some injury concern or something regarding Terrace Marshall. That is the only possible explanation as to why he fell to the end of the second round. After an off-chance of going in round one, Marshall saw himself get passed on by multiple, lesser receivers in the second. Terrace Marshall may not be as pro-ready as the other receivers in this class, but his ceiling is as high as anyone else’s. After playing behind Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase in 2019 Marshall showed out in 2020. Racking up 731 yards and 10 touchdowns in just 7 games was ridiculous. He possesses top-end speed despite being 6-foot-3. All he needs to do is clean up his routes and will dominate in Joe Brady’s offense.

Teven Jenkins : Chicago Bears

After moving up to grab Justin Fields, Chicago moves up to give him some protection. The reason this is one of the best picks is they prioritize giving their rookie quarterback help, giving him a fighting chance. Teven Jenkins is a will-imposer who will step into the starting right tackle position immediately. His 2020 tape consisted of dominating opposing pass-rushers including Texas’s Joseph Ossai. He has exceptional strength that will allow him to do the same at the NFL level. Pairing him with Justin Fields is so smart, which is surprising given it’s the Bears

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah : Cleveland Browns

Another guy who surprisingly fell out of round one. Cleveland drafting Owusu-Koramoah might be the steal of the draft. Not only does he fit a pressing need at linebacker, but he is one of the best in the class. While some may call him a tweener due to his size, JOK’s coverage skills are second to none. He possesses great speed, fluid hips, and can go step for step with receivers or tight ends. The Browns’ only roster needs were defense this offseason. They ended up adding Jadeveon Clowney, Troy Hill, John Johnson, Greg Newsome, and Owusu-Koramoah. Cleveland now may have the best defense in the NFL.

Elijah Moore : New York Jets

This is one of the best picks for the same reason as the Teven Jenkins selection. New York is giving their rookie quarterback a fighting chance. Elijah Moore was a surefire first-round selection in my opinion before dropping to the 35th pick. However, Moore is the separator this offense needs. Moore displays great short-area quickness to get open with ease against man coverage. In the slot, Moore has a knack for finding holes in zone coverage making his quarterback’s life easy. Moore will turn heads quickly, especially when given a featured role in this offense. The Zach Wilson to Elijah Moore connection will be one of the best.

Kelvin Joseph : Dallas Cowboys

Jerry Jones does it again, making another great selection. After a fantastic move in the acquisition of Micah Parsons, Jones gets excellent value on a position of need here. Opposite of Trevon Diggs the Cowboys were in desperate need of a cornerback. Kelvin Joseph was the perfect answer. An under-the-radar guy due to character concerns, Joseph can play. He is the only defensive back to stifle DeVonta Smith last season, allowing 0 catches, 2 forced incompletions, and 1 interception. He is a ballhawk who led the SEC in interceptions and will do damage for the Dallas defense.
